Peak Energy is a grid-scale storage company bringing sodium-ion batteries to the $25B U.S. utility storage market. Compared to lithium, sodium batteries are lower cost, safer, and are built on an abundant, available material supply chain. The technology is scaling rapidly in China, signaling mass market maturity. Working with three of the top five renewable energy companies in the U.S., Peak is deploying sodium ESS to the grid starting next year. In parallel, Peak is building the first giga-scale sodium battery factory in the U.S., taking advantage of the favorable policy environment and the skyrocketing demand for clean energy for everything from EVs to AI data centers. Peak was founded in 2023 by industry veterans Landon Mossberg (Tesla, Northvolt) and Cam Dales (Enovix, Symyx) with seed funding from Eclipse, TDK, and InQtel. The company's Series A was led by Xora Innovation with participation from Eclipse, TDK, Tishman Speyer, Doral Energy, TechEnergy Ventures, and Lachy Groom.
“Eclipse has been a true Co-Founder to Peak, providing everything from deep thought partnership to incredible industry access, and setting us up for scale from day one. I had a longstanding relationship with Eclipse partners from my time at Tesla in 2016. When I was exploring my next chapter after my run as President of Northvolt NA, we reconnected over a shared interest in energy supply chains and the energy storage market, driven by a thesis Eclipse published on long-duration energy storage. Through our partnership, Eclipse has driven critical market discovery with dozens of high-caliber industry introductions, facilitated customer development with introductions to current customers with GWh/yr partnerships, and supported early team hires, including multiple founding team members like Cam Dales, who was an Operating Partner at Eclipse. Their Co-Founder quality thought partnership spans strategy, go-to-market, product, and capitalization, making Eclipse an indispensable part of our journey."

Reframe Systems is pioneering building the future of net-zero carbon multifamily residential housing by harnessing design automation, modular building components, and advanced manufacturing techniques in robotic microfactories. Vikas Enti, CEO of Reframe, and his Co-Founders, Aaron Small and Felipe Polido, spent a combined 20 years in the warehousing industry during their time at Amazon Robotics. They witnessed first-hand Amazon’s rapid global warehouse expansion software, automation, and robotics, inspiring Vikas to apply those learnings to tackle the housing crisis and reduce its carbon footprint.
“Eclipse has been instrumental in shaping my thesis on scaling modular construction with advanced manufacturing techniques. The team’s thoughtful questions, deep insights on infrastructure development challenges, and perspectives on business strategy helped accelerate the development of my thesis into a funded startup in under four months. The Eclipse team introduced me to over 20 developers and general contractors, helped narrow down the target real estate market, and sourced key manufacturing and business development initial hires to tackle the $10 billion modular construction market.”

Stealth Industrial Equipment NewCo is building the future of autonomous heavy equipment for our critical industries; starting with heavy earthmoving equipment in construction. This will accelerate the buildout of manufacturing facilities, distribution centers, data centers, and large housing developments. Today massive labor shortages, aging workforces (40% of the construction workforce will retire in the next 10 years), costs of housing, and crumbling infrastructure, drives a huge need for production improvements. Rapid advances in the hardware, software, and infrastructure to develop highly reliable autonomous machines have made it possible to reuse significant amounts of core infrastructure and data to expand the reliable operating domain of autonomy.
"I met the Eclipse team in the early stages of ideation, months before we founded the company. We collaborated across multiple early ideas, finding alignment and shared theses in heavy equipment autonomy. We spent about three months in deep industry outreach and connection, which yielded over 30 high-quality industry connections. These connections spanned customer discovery with the country's top general contractors and local subcontractors, testing grounds and facilities, strategic investors, company advisors, and channel partners. This partnership accelerated our commercial development and industry learning. Our collaboration with Eclipse spanned product, go-to-market, capital, and team strategy, making their contributions indispensable to our early success."

“Through customer discovery and partner meetings, we refined a broad hypothesis into a precise business plan in six months instead of 18. Working with the Eclipse VE team allows a founder to sit on the same side of the table. You stress test ideas together and see if a startup idea is worth a decade or more of your life. This means not only that you launch with a higher chance of ultimate success, but also with the understanding that you have a partner that has the same level of conviction as you do."

We partner from the earliest stages of ideation with the world’s most talented leaders, to solve massive issues in the world’s most stagnant industries by leveraging a modern technology stack and innovative business models. Our process is entirely bespoke and matches to each founder — we don’t have ‘cohorts’ or ‘classes’ — and we only build businesses where Eclipse and our network of partners, LPs, and talent can give founders an asymmetric advantage.
We spend months working together to ideate, design, and validate solutions before capitalizing and accelerating these new businesses to scale.
